Spring Hill Cross

This Saturday cyclists will gather to compete in the Spring Hill Cross. This cyclo-cross event is held on a one and a half to two mile course over pavement, dirt and grass surfaces with the challenge of steep hills and obstacles. As riders complete multiple laps during the thirty to fifty minute long races they get covered with the same dirt and grass they just pedaled over and may need to get off their bike to run up steep hill or get over obstacles.

The USA Cycling permitted event has categories for open, masters, women and juniors and abilities from beginner to professional. The cyclo-cross round is part of the Berger Hardware Bikes Cross Central Series. The competition is held at the Spring Hill Campus, that is part of NCSU Centennial Campus, and adjacent to the new Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh. The first race begins at 9:30 am and the last race ends at 3:45 pm.
