2016 Driving Review

Cars and Coffee in Morrisville and Wake Forest:

Cars and Coffee is a monthly car show and social event where anyone can bring their car or truck to display to others and socialize with like minded enthusiasts. There are two monthly events in the area, Cars and Coffee Morrisville held at the Morrisville Outlet Mall on the first Saturday and Cars and Coffee Wake Forest held at the Gateway Commons Shopping Center on the fourth.

Car Shows:

The North Carolina International Auto Expo has many new cars for enthusiasts to see and touch. The annual event is held in February at the NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

There are a few car shows for owners and enthusiasts of older cars held in the area during the summer. The cars in multiple classes are judged with the best receive prizes. The shows include: The Wake Forest Charity Car Show in downtown Wake Forest on the 11th of June, The Capital City Cruisers Truck, Car and Bike Show held at Char-Grill in Garner on the 20th of August, The Labor Day Weekend Car, Truck & Bike Show held at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Durham on the 3rd of September. Classic Car Show held at Custom Brick & Supply Company in Raleigh on the 17th of September and the Creedmoor Car Show on Main Street in Creedmoor also on the 17th of September.

Autocross:

The Tarheel Sports Car Club held a Solo II (Autocross) event for competitors to drive their own cars one at a time through a course of cones laid out in a large parking lot at the Cary Towne Center on the 17th of September.

Car Racing:

The two race tracks in the area held multiple races on weekend nights. Wake County Speedway in Raleigh had Friday Night Racing on weekends from June until September. At each event there was races for Late Models/Chargers, Mini-Stocks/UCARS, Legends, Bandoleros and Bombers. There were also races for the Southern Ground Pounders, Eastern USAC Midgets and Southern Modifieds. Orange County Speedway in Rougemont had Saturday Night Racing on weekends from April until October. At each event there were races for Late Models, Limited, Pure Stock, Street Stock and Super Mini trucks. On alternating events there were Grand American Modifieds and Mod 4 races. There was also a Southern Ground Pounders race.
