Clayton River Walk on the Neuse Greenway & Trailhead

The Clayton River Walk on the Neuse Greenway follows the river upstream to the Johnson County line where it continues in Wake County as the Neuse River Trail to the Falls Lake Dam.

In the downstream direction, it goes to the Sal’s Branch Greenway where it currently ends. This greenway is part of both the Mountains to the Sea Trail and the East Coast Greenway.

Along the way there are numerous views of the river.

Where Covered Bridge Road crosses the Neuse River, there is an intersection that connects to a trailhead.

This short segment goes to the parking area off Covered Bridge Road.

Near the parking area, there is a bike repair station for cyclists to resolve issues.

Carrboro Pump Track, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park

The recently renovated pump track in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Carrboro has four loops for a variety of rider skill levels.

There are two intermediate loops with the left loop …

and the right loop.

There is a beginner loop.


And finally, there is a first timer loop.

This rails to trails greenway connects Downtown Durham to Apex. Along the way, the route is adjacent to the C. M. Herndon Park in Durham. Places to Explore | Places to Train

Reedy Creek Trail, Umstead State Park

This trail connects Reedy Creek Road in Raleigh to Old Reedy Creek Road in Cary through Umstead State Park. Its wide crushed gravel surface is good for all off road activities. Places to Explore | Places to Train.

Go Skateboarding Day 2025

Expanded Area

The greater Raleigh-Durham, NC area is adding many people and an increasing number of events are being held in towns nearby. Beginning with this new year, the area has been expanded to include these events on the calendar. Take a look and find one to compete in.

A New Direction

Initially, PeoplePorting informed on running, cycling & driving then recently running, cycling & swimming. The team is taking a new direction offering event information about walking in addition to running and rollerskating, rollerblading, skateboarding, scootering in addition to cycling. The latter wheeled activities are part of micromobility whether people move with traditional self powered or new electric powered vehicles. All these activities navigate the trails, greenways and sidewalks that connect communities.
